Stop
Dog From Barking
Barking,
when done
excessively, decreases people’s patience level on their
beloved dogs. True
enough, this can be irritating to the ears. Nevertheless, owner should
not put
all the blame on their pets because dogs, if they are untrained, are
clueless
whether barking is something good or something bad. The blame can be
pointed
back at the owners themselves. Their inconsistencies tend to confuse
their dogs
from learning what is right from wrong. Whenever the dog barks, the
owner
exhibits different response. Sometimes, he’ll yell at the
dog, he’ll praise
him, he’ll do him a favor, and some times, he simply ignores
his dog. Dogs
won’t be aware that they are irritating without showing them
that they
are. You
can’t stop dog from barking by
simply doing nothing.
To
make your dog become
aware that you don’t like to hear him barking excessively,
you can teach him
that barking is ok until he is told to stop. In order to stop dog from
barking,
you can teach him the dog training command that says “Stop
barking. “ And
when he obeys, give him necessary
rewards.
If this
does not work, you can try imposing
punishments. When he barks, you can give him a two-fingered smack on
his nose,
or you can spray water lightly in his face to let him know that barking
can
cause unpleasant consequences. However, you must ensure that you
won’t hurt
your dog. It’s a no-no. Aside from being inhumane, it
won’t help stop dog from
barking. It might intensify the problem even more.
If your
house training doesn’t work for your dog,
you can hire a professional trainer for your dog. They are expert, and
they
would know what to do best. Though this can be a little bit costly,
surely it
will eliminate the barking problem of your dog in no time. You will
eventually
see that it’s worth every penny you spent. Just make sure
that the trainer is
credible enough and has a good reputation. Make sure he is not a
trainer who
hits dogs while in a training.
Nonetheless,
if you
still don’t want to invest on a professional trainer, you can
also buy collars
that would help stop your dog from barking: The citronella collar,
sonic
collar, ultrasonic collar, pinch collar, and shock collar. All execute
the same
principle. You just simply tie the collar at your dog’s neck.
These collars
have special sensors that are activated whenever the dog barks. Once
the
sensors are activated, these collars emit a certain unpleasant
consequence that
would make the dog want to stop barking once he already able to
associate the
consequence with his barking. This can be done repeatedly, until your
dog
develop a habit of not barking excessively.
